Hurricane Sandy and climate change

In recent days there has been much said and written about Hurricane Sandy and the possible impact human induced climate change has had in its creation and the resulting destruction of the Northeast.  Even Bill Nye the science guy is getting involved.

After reading, watching, and thinking about the various media sources I have interacted with I've concluded that the picture and science is not all that clear.  With that said, it does seem that the evidence of a changing climate from rising sea levels to melting ice caps does lead to increased storm strength and likelihood.
